2024 Educational Scholarship

For consideration, student must:

• Be Black or African American
• Reside in the Bloomington/Normal area
• Attend a high school in the Bloomington/Normal area
• Must be a high school senior during the 2023-2024 academic school year
• Graduate from high school no later than June 30, 2024
• Be enrolled in an accredited two-, three- or four-year college or university for the 2024-2025 school term
• Attach a resume that documents:  scholastic honors/awards, extracurricular activities (include any clubs, teams, and offices held), community/church activities

Complete the scholarship application packet:

• Application must be typewritten or submitted electronically
• A typed response to one (1) essay question
• A brief personal statement that best describes you
• An official high school transcript
• Evidence of acceptance into college
• Student resume

• Use the full name of awards, clubs or organizations (no acronyms)

Please note ineligibility:

• Family (i.e. parents, grandparents, siblings, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces, or nephews) of members in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® are ineligible.
