Mental Health Awareness Month – Dispelling the Myth: Black Women and Mental Health Panel Discussion

May 31, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®️ is making strides toward raising awareness and educating women of color in our local communities about the importance of mental health.  Our sorority’s goal is to shed light on the signs of mental illness, understanding diagnosis,  treatment options and seeking professional care.  Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®️ understands that mental health challenges are often multiplied in women of color by the disparities of both race and gender.

The Ladies of the Omicron Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®️ will be hosting a mental health awareness event, “Dispelling the Myth: Black Women and Mental Health.”  We aim to fight the stigma around mental health and raise awareness related to depression, anxiety and trauma.

Please share this invitation with the women who hold a special place in your life and encourage them to attend this important event.  The panel discussion will take place May 31st, at 6:00 p.m. at the Normal Public Library, Community Room.

Thank you for your support!
